Black Goose Reunion Recap

Good times at the Black Goose Grille. The crew was: Colin McEvoy, Caryn Ball Kelly, Chris Stelben Connolly, Dave Moody, Mike Keuhler ('86), Karen Nielsen Keuhler ('88), Rob Haines ('86), Laura Potter James ('85), and me.

Chris Stelben Connolly and her husband live in the Burlingame area just outside San Francisco. Caryn Ball Kelly lives in Darien. Caryn met her husband in college (Boston University), and after a stint in London they moved back home. Both Caryn and Chris's careers have included working for Time Magazine.

Dave Moody lives in San Francisco and was back home for the holidays. Colin McEvoy recently moved back to Darien with his family after living in Denver a few years. He works for Hess Trading Company in NYC, and recently got to know Alex Hoguet (Tokeneke/King School) who works in Hess's Boston office.

Rob Haines is the self-described "Fairfield County Single Guy". He gave me the background on the mysterious and possibly offensive nickname he had in high school, "Swainey Homo". Evidently Dave Spadaccini called Rob 'Swaines' and 'Swainey' for years. Then one day at DHS Rob decided to date the x-girlfriend of his friend John Paterniti. John didn't think that was cool so he started calling Rob 'Swainey Homo'. The rest is history.

Mike 'Keelbuzz' Keuhler and Karen Nielsen Keuhler have been married since '93 or something. They were DHS sweethearts (I think) and are enjoying the Darien scene. My sister Laura Potter James moved back to Darien 5 years ago and has become good friends with the Keuhler's.
